Here’s another venue that closed in September / October 2018. Hippo Hut was located in Hutto, TX (Williamson County.) It was a fairly new venue, opened for maybe two years. They built a nice wood dance floor and band stage. There were tables situated under the trees, with umbrellas for shade. Fans were attached to several trees and were gratefully used. They offered a limited food menu, beer and water for sale. This particular day they were still open and we heard Justin Cole.
Staff here is friendly, and other patrons are nice. It was a local hangout with good music provided. The owners, Nate and Jamie Rae Church, talked with Bubba and Jill Cox, owners of Granger Country Cotton Club, and purchased the Cotton club the end of October, 2018. Official transfer of ownership is January 1, 2019.
A week later we were dancing at the Williamson County Sheriff’s Posse Rodeo.
