Martinez Social Club, 7791 FM 1346, San Antonio, was on our list for a long time to visit. Everyone we talked to said it was a great place to dance and they weren’t lying!
Established in 1912, with a separate building for the 9 pin bowling alley behind the dance hall, the club features dances with live music on Wednesdays from 7:30 – 10:30 p.m., on Fridays from 8 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. and on Sundays from 3 to 6:30 p.m. We were there for a rare Saturday night dance featuring Coby Carter.
Soft drinks, beer and water are for sale – cash only. BYOB.

The dance floor. Lots of room, smooth floor, great decorations, plenty of seating along the sides.

If you want a reason to visit besides dancing, they have a fundraiser coming up.

We renewed acquaintances with Annie and Wayne who we first met at Schroeder Hall last July. Annie can spin on the floor! We counted 70 spins in a row one time and she said that’s not her record. They had new moves this time around – and they’re engaged. Congrats and best wishes to them both!

This was a great place to dance. Wonderful people, great music, lots of parking. We will be back!!! Hope to see you on the floor sometime!
