Sammy’s, 1413 E 4th Street, Hallettsville is a friendly place. Sammy and his wife Liz were watching their grandson play his last college game on the big screen tv, but Sammy took time out to welcome us to his place.

They’ve owned the business for the last 12-14 years. Sammy said the kids that come to his place are all good, but he’s strict about the rules. Anyone not behaving is kicked out. Sammy wanted a place within city limits so they could stay open later and serve mixed drinks. There’s a fair selection of bottled beer. Check out their Facebook page for upcoming events.
There were several people quietly playing pool, some others talking at a corner table near the Touchtunes jukebox which can be controlled from your phone with the downloaded app. One of the features we appreciated was the separate smoking room.

We were interested in the dance floor, which we found to be very nice, and just the right size for the two of us to use alone. We had a difficult time picking out a song. Some angel (or other customer) took pity on us and a danceable song came on while we were looking at selections.

We had a very enjoyable time talking with them and dancing. Sammy allowed me to take his photo. I told him I’d post it on my blog and make him famous. So when you visit, let him know where you heard about his dance floor.
