Bo’s Barn: Visited 3-4-22

We were at Bo’s Barn, 4984 Farm to Market Road 93 Temple, TX 76502, way before we started this blog. In fact I thought it was one of the first floors we visited. So when we decided to ride up the road and dance there again, I didn’t think to take photos. So there is no outdoor photo. That will be rectified the next time we visit. If you want to see what they’ve posted, I have a link to their website here.

We were surprised by some of the changes. They no longer allow smoking inside. Unfortunately for the teens, they’re no longer allowed at the hall. Seems there was some destructive behavior that ruined it for all the families. It’s now a 21 and older venue.

A new band for us, Scooter Dubec and the Sterling Country band, played that night. The lead singer had a fabulous voice. They played cover songs from Johnny Bush to Johnny Cash to Waylon Jennings. Lots of old school country songs.

Most of the tables are reserved. Call if you want to sit or get there early and get a seat in the back. They still have the pool tables. Two bars and a food window. Friendly staff at the door and bars. Lots of parking.

This hall has very good dancers. We only saw two people who wore something other than cowboy boots. Usually we see quite a few in heels, slides, or (horrors) barefoot. But this venue has serious dancers. Men wore tailored cowboy shirts and pressed jeans and cowboy hats, while women were dressed to dance in jeans or skirts and boots.

There were two announcements during the night. One was for a birthday and the other for a 35 year wedding anniversary. Congratulations!

We will put this on our list of halls to visit on a more regular basis. Perhaps we’ll get to know some of the regulars too.
